Load your folders. Search an SFX. Audition results. Add the useful sounds to Queue. Send them to your project — or directly to the active Pro Tools session.

Built for speed

Search large local SFX libraries fast.

Point AudioScout at the folders you already own — including external drives — and keep the hierarchy you already know. Search everything or narrow the scope to one trusted folder.

Move through results with ↑ / ↓ and hear each selection immediately.
Search a complete sound-effects library or just one folder/subfolder.
Work with large local indexes without turning your library into a cloud ecosystem.

AudioScout Queue, Export to Folder and DAW Project Bin workflow
One Queue

Collect first. Deliver once.

Keep auditioning and selecting while you work. When the set is ready, choose the handoff that matches your project.

Export to Folder — copy the current Queue anywhere.
DAW Project Bin — send sounds to the project folder used by your editing workflow.
Pro Tools Direct — connect to the active session and send the batch directly to the Clip List.
A different kind of alternative

Looking for a lightweight Soundly or SoundQ alternative for your own local SFX?

AudioScout is deliberately narrower. It does not try to replace every library service or become another subscription platform. It focuses on the repetitive part of the job: search → audition → queue → deliver. If you already own sound libraries and mainly want to use them faster, that is the problem AudioScout is designed to solve.

Bonus included

External Sources

AudioScout is not trying to sell you another sound library. Selected third-party sources can be discovered from the same workspace, while the core local-library workflow remains independent.

Discover compatible free sound-effects packs and turn them into indexed Local Libraries.
Keep source and licence context visible where supported.
Bring your own API credentials where a third-party source requires them.
External Sources is an included bonus. Third-party availability, licences and APIs can change independently of AudioScout. The core local SFX search workflow does not depend on them.

FAQ

Before you buy

Does AudioScout include a sound-effects library?

No. AudioScout is primarily a fast browser and workflow tool for the SFX libraries you already own or download from legitimate sources. External Sources is an optional discovery bonus, not a bundled proprietary library.

Is AudioScout a subscription?

No. The launch offer is a USD 10 one-time purchase for the first 10 buyers. The planned standard price is USD 15.

Does AudioScout work with Pro Tools?

Yes. On supported systems, AudioScout can send the current Queue directly to the Clip List of the active Pro Tools session. Pro Tools 2023.6 or later is required for the direct integration.

Can I use it without Pro Tools?

Yes. You can search and audition your libraries, build a Queue, export selected files to a folder, or use a project-folder workflow with other DAWs and editors.

Does it upload my local library to the cloud?

No. The core library workflow is local-first: your sound files remain on your computer or external drives.
